Today my therapy dog, Finley, turns two!

For a whole summer, Fin accompanied me as we practiced different OCD exposures. During these exposures, Finley would offer distraction as the huge wave of anxiety consumed me.

Fin is a special dog. Being only one-year-old at the time when I worked with her, she was able to sense my distress and offer comfort. From the beginning, I felt a special bond to Fin. She trusted me and I trusted her.

The bond between a person and her animal is truly one of a kind. It makes me so happy to know that while I’m at school, Finley is working with countless other individuals with OCD/anxiety disorders.
